The Myth of the River Saints

Long ago, the people who lived along these rivers believed the water was alive. Local lore says that if you linger by the Bogue Falaya at dusk, a River Saint may reveal itself, granting you and those you love good fortune.

The Chef & Proprietor

Pat Gallagher

Pat Gallagher began his restaurant journey in 1978, serving the same community of Covington. Over 45 years he opened restaurants across St. Tammany Parish and served as executive chef at Ruth's Chris Steak House. In 2024 the Louisiana Tourism Commission named him Restaurateur of the Year.

In 2025, Pat & his wife Chyrl purchased the River Saint Hotel property, after it had been closed for several years.

“The property is filled with such rich history, and it has been home to so many special occasions over the years, it only felt right that we invest in keeping that going.”
